Creating a Journey

Summary / TL:DR: This article will teach you how to create a journey in WMC.

Journeys in WMC reflect the customer journey. This is where you will connect the standard pages, order pages, cross-sell/upsell pages, forms, advertisements, emails, exit pops together to show what the customer will experience. Remember that creatives must be published before adding them to a journey!


How to Create a New Journey in WMC

  1. Select Create

  2. Select Journey

  3. Define a name for the Journey - Naming conventions are extremely important for consistency and standardization of information 

  4. Select the status. The status will default to active when adding a new journey. The status can be changed to shelved or expired. 

  5. Set the following options if applicable:

Populate Form Values Automatically

When we have the data and where possible, this allows customer information to be populated in forms. 

Journey Specific Error Page

Allows you to select a custom error page to be used when applicable.

Duplicate Order Page

Allows you to select a custom duplicate order page to be used when applicable.

Limit Number of Orders

Enter a number to limit the amount of orders to be taken of efforts using this journey. Here you can also set up automatic resets.


6. Query parameters can be added to the journey and will be displayed through all elements of the journey. 

7. Select Build Customer Journey

8. Then select the first item the customer will see this could be a page, form, ad. 

9. Once you’ve define the first element, you will select the creative associated with the journey

10. Add additional elements to the customer journey such as the order form, upsell/cross sell, confirmation pages and exit pops.

11. Click Exit Customer Journey to save your journey.

12. Once you have added your journey you will be able to share the visual, and preview the customer experience. 

13. Add tags as necessary 

14. Click Save
