Follow the instructions below to create a dedicated mailing from an effort.

How to Create a Dedicated Mailing from an Effort

1. Begin by creating an effort like you usually would

2. The Effort Type must be Dedicated. 

   Only dedicated mailings can be sent from IRIS currently.

3. Select the list you will sending the mailing to

   If the list you selected has not been set up for mailings in IRIS yet, you will see the following message next to the List field.

   To get a list set up for mailing, submit a support ticket ticket.

4. Complete the following fields: 

   
   

   MC Split	Complete this field if you are creating a split mailing. If the field is grayed out, it could be because you are creating the first effort. Once you create the second effort, the field will be active.
   Segment*	Select the segment of the list you are mailing to.
   Template	Select the mailing template if one is being used.
   Subject Line*	Enter the subject line.
   High Importance	Select Yes if you would like to make the mailing of high importance.
   Lift note/build email*	Use the WYSIWYG to build the email. Link to the creative using the full promotion or order form placeholder

How to Build an Email

1. Once a promo code has been entered, from the Marketing Schedule screen, click

    in the same row as the effort.

   This will take you to the Mailings Schedule screen.

2. Next, click

    in the same row as the effort to edit/continue creating the mailing.
3. On the Build Email screen, most of the information, including the lift note, will have already been completed since this is being pulled in from the effort.
4. You can also add a text backup if it wasn't applied at the template level.
5. Add a Split Test if you wish
6. Click Save
7. Click Next

How to Preview your Email

1. Verify the Subject Line, Mailing Name, and Target are correct.

2. Preview the HTML and Text messages. 

    If changes need to be made to the info in steps 1 and 2, click

3. Before your mailing is created in Message Central, you will need to send an IRIS Test Email.  Simply click the

4. Click

5. Click

6. If everything looks good in the test email, click

   The create button will only be enabled if a promotion code is assigned to the effort and if an IRIS test email as already been sent.

   Clicking the create button will create a record of the content in Message Central.

7. The spam score will now appear above the HTML and Text tabs.  Ideally, you don't want your spam score to be any higher than 3.

   This mailing is exactly how customers will see the mailing.  It includes all Message Central personalizations.

How to Schedule a Mailing

1. 1. Click

      The earliest you can schedule a mailing is 5 minutes in the future.

   3. Click Save

      Promotional links should default to "order."

   5. Click

   6. You are now ready to approve your mailing so it can be send through Message Central.  Go to Approving a Mailing for more information.

      If for some reason you don't want the mailing to send you must click "Cancel Mailing."  This will delete the mailing and effort from IRIS and the mailing will not send from Message Central.
