Understanding the Marketing Ribbon

Summary / TL:DR: This article is a reference to help you understand the marketing ribbon in Advantage.

When working with Advantage for marketing, the recommended ribbon to use is the Marketing ribbon.


 

 



Promotions

 

Campaigns

This view is to display, create and maintain campaign codes. The campaign code is used to group together promotion codes for a given outlet (ie internal email, agora website), publication code (or in the case of products, owning organization, year and month, and unique identifier (this is used to identify the specific campaign, ie. "The End of America") For example: EAWNS5A Meaning: Internal Email, publication AWN, May 2016, Unique Identifier

Promotions

This view is to display, create and maintain promotion codes. Promotion codes are used to track specific information about customers who purchase a service. For instance, where was this promotion located, the type of promotion, and financial information.

Promotion Offers

This view is to display, create and maintain promotion offers. Promotion offers group together three items; Credit Policies, Premium Sets and Choices. By grouping these three elements together, a promotion offer will be able to be reused across different promotion codes.

Creative

This view is to display, create and maintain creative codes. Creative codes are used to track copy related information, for instance the copywriter and a link to the promotion page. Creative codes are not required; however, they are essential to tracking the copywriter and are useful reporting on copy.

Credit Policies

This view is to display and create credit policies. Credit policies are used to determine the refund a customer should receive when canceling. Credit policies are used across affiliates and promotions.

Credit policies should not be edited or changed because they are used across affiliates and promotion. If changed, a credit policy it will effect any customer who has the credit policy attached to their service.

Premium Sets

This view is to display, create and maintain premium sets. Premium sets are free gifts that we give to our customers to entice them to purchase a service. Examples of premium sets range from free reports to a trial of a paid subscription.


Choices

 

Subscriptions

This view is to display, create and maintain a choice for a publication. A choice contains the price, the length of time the customer will receive the publication and how they will receive it.

Products

This view is to display, create and maintain a choice for a product. This is also where choices can be created for Bookclub and Standing Order. Bookclub is auto-delivery service and standing order also to charge the customer at will. Product choices will have the price the customer will pay and the quantity of the product the customer will receive.

Memberships

This view is to display, create and maintain a membership choice. A membership is a group of publications the customer will receive for a longer period of time. Membership choices contain the price the customer will pay, how they will renew, the level the of the membership (ie silver, gold, platinum) and how the customer will receive the membership.

Conferences

This view is to display, create and maintain conference choices. Conference choices are where it defines what conference the customer will attend and the price.

Agreements

This view is to display, create and maintain agreement choices. Agreements grant the customer access to a website for a given period of time. An Agreement choice will define the price customer will pay and how long they will have access to the website.


Renewal Chains

Subscription Auto Renewal Chains

This view is to display, create and maintain membership auto-renewal chains. Automatic renewal chains are setup to allow for flexibility in rate and/or terms for the automatic renewal of a membership.

Membership Auto Renewal Chains

This view is to display, create and maintain subscription auto-renewal chains. Automatic renewal chains are setup to allow for flexibility in rate and/or terms for the automatic renewal of a subscription.

Agreements Auto Renewal Chains

This view is to display, create and maintain agreement auto-renewal chains. Automatic renewal chains are setup to allow for flexibility in rate and/or terms for the automatic renewal of a subscription.


Set-Up

 

Conference Set Up

This view is to display, create and maintain conference items. In general, setup of a new conference should be sent to support.

Coupons

This view is to display, create and maintain coupons.

Installment Billing

This view is to display installment billing codes. Installment billing codes can be associated with choices to allow for customers to may payments for an item. To add a new code or make changes, contact support.


List/Pub Info

 

Publications

This view pops up a dialog box for Publication Lookup. Publication Lookup can be used to determine if a subscription is setup with a yearly term of 12 issues vs 52 issues and delivery methods available for the subscription.

Milo Lists

This view is to display Milo Lists. Milo lists are internal Agora mailing lists.

Lists

This view is to display, create and maintain external lists. This is used to track an ad placement. For instance "Google Ad Words." If promoting to a new external list, come here to create a new list.


Product Info

 

FAQs

This view is to display, create and maintain FAQs associated with an item for customer service. FAQs are maintained under the Edit Profile section once an item is selected.

Item Narratives

This view is to display, create and maintain item narratives associated with an item for customer service. Narratives can include basic information about a product or service as well as sales pitches and messages that are displayed during order entry of an item.

Product Alert

This view is to display, create and maintain product alerts. Product alerts are alerts for customer service that display when an agent navigates to the Product Info area.


Inventory

 

Receipts

Not used.

Inventory Warehouse

This view is to display inventory based on an item and warehouse.

Products

This view is to display product setup. In general, product setup is maintained by the Fulfillment team, please submit a request to support to add or change an item setup.


Product Lookup

 

 

Products

This view pops up a dialog box for Product Lookup. This is often referred to as 'Blue Tower' based on the icon customer service uses. This is the product knowledge base used to display product alerts, FAQs and item narratives.

Publications

This view pops up a dialog box for Publication Lookup. Publication Lookup can be used to determine if a subscription is setup with a yearly term of 12 issues vs 52 issues and delivery methods available for the subscription.

Packages

This view is to display packages, sometimes referred to as bundles. Packages allow an order to come in for one item, setup as a product, that can explode out to many different types of items including subscriptions, items and agreements. To add a package or change an existing package setup, contact support.

Access Services

This view is to display agreement access services. For agreement setup, contact Adv support.
