Understanding Campaigns

Summary / TL:DR: This article is a reference to help you understand campaigns in Advantage.

Campaign codes are often though of as "buckets" or "umbrella codes" that group together all of the promotion code for a particular campaign.  Campaign codes identify a mailing. These codes are 7 digits and will contain letters and numbers. Click Campaigns in the Marketing Ribbon to navigate to the Campaigns screen.



Campaigns Screen

These are the recommended customized columns from this screen.  There are more columns available.

Campaign Code

Displays the code that identifies the campaign.

Description

Provides more detail about the campaign.

Initiation Date

Displays the date the campaign was created.

Added By Description

Displays the name of the user that added the campaign.

Local Currency

Displays the local currency for the campaign.

Last Updated

Displays the date and time the campaign was last updated.

Last Updated By Description

Displays the name of the user that last updated the campaign.

Campaign Code

There are four fields that define the campaign code.



Outlet Code

Defines the outlet that the campaign is being promoted through.

Publication Code/Owning Org

Defines the publication or owning organization of the product for the campaign.



Year & Month

Defines the year and month of the campaign. Example: May 2016 = S5 December 2016 = SC

Unique Identifier

Uniquely identifies the campaign code in the even there is more than one for the year and month selected.

Description

Allows users to provide additional information about the campaign.

Initiator

Free form field that identifies the user who added the campaign code.

Initiation Date

Defines the date that the campaign code was added.

Local Currency

Defines the local currency of the campaign.

Cost Accumulation Method

For reporting purposes, defines how costs will be broken up.



C - Campaign Level

DO NOT USE



P - Promotion Level

This should always be selected. This will allow users to break down reporting by promotion code costs.


Promotions Tab

The Promotions Tab will only appear after a campaign code has been created.  This tab will display all of the promotion codes under the campaign being viewed.

Promotion Code

Displays the promotion codes attached to the campaign.

Campaign Code

Displays the campaign code.

Publication Code

Displays the publication code or owning org of the publication or product being sold.

Promo Description

Displays the promotion code description.
