Domain Configurations

Summary / TL:DR: this shows you how to register for domain configuration.

The setup process for each kind of domain is different. See the below pages for how to recognize and perform each type of domain setup.

Please remember to ask Oxford and AF what LLC the domain needs to be registered under!!!

Domains cannot be used in more than one instance of IRIS.

Lead Gen

  • These requests have to be sent in to Service Desk by a user manually, so they don't have a standardized format.

  • If the user mentions it being for a 'Signup' or 'Lead Gen' domain, it's more than likely a Lead Gen Domain.

  • If the use requests a domain to be set up in IRIS and it isn't clearly indicated to be a Paid or a Lead Gen domain, just ask them to clarify.

Paid

  • All paid domains start with pro., so if a user requests pro.___.com it's definitely a paid domain that they're requesting.

  • If the user mentions wanting the domain set up as a "Paid" or "Pro" domain, that indicates that the request is for a Paid Domain.

  • The main differences Paid Domains have is that they need to be added to MC's Automatic Order Tracking which is used to pull stats, it uses a different HTTPS Certificate, it needs an Order Form URL, and it uses different fields to determine Default Redirect Links and Externally Hosted Effort Links.

Vanity

The term Domain Configuration refers to the process of setting up a domain for use in IRIS, or sometimes refers to a specific Domain that has been set up. An affiliate would want to set up a domain for the same reason you'd set up a new website. If you have a new product or division that's launching you would would want it to have it's own URL. There are also Vanity URLs, which are related. They are just shortcuts that lead to an IRIS hosted page, and are good for non-digital media like radio and magazine ads. Example: www.manwardtrader1.com
