ADV FAQs Cancel an Order Partially Posted

Summary / TL:DR: This article will show you how to cancel an order that has not yet been fulfilled, but has been posted. These orders will be in Complete - released status.  If the order is not yet posted, the option to delete the order will be available by right click, go here to cancel an order not yet posted.

If the order was part of an automatic delivery - generated from BCL - do not follow these instructions. Go here and terminate the automatic delivery. You will be prompted to delete the pending order in C status.


How to Cancel an Order Partially Posted

  1. From the Customer Service ribbon, navigate to Customer Activity

  2. Select the product you want to cancel

  3. Select Cancel Released Order (this option is available by right-click or via the ellipsis icon)

  4. A dialog box will appear to confirm the cancellation

  5. Click Yes

  6. The Product Order Recap Display dialog box will appear, click Close

  7. When an order is in Complete - released status, the customer has not yet been charged. The amount authorized on the credit card for the order will be reversed.

Orders that have been cancelled using these instructions will still display as Complete - Released status until the posting has completed.  When posting has completed, the status will change to Finished, however the customer will NOT be fulfilled the product.  To confirm, navigate to the Original Order Lines tab.  The Order Line Status Description will display as Released Order Cancelled.  In addition, the Qty Shipped will display as 0.
