Onelogin Protect User Guide

Summary / TL:DR: This article will introduce you to OneLogin protect. You will learn how to setup OneLogin Protect, use it to authenticate your login attempt, and how to manage multi-factor authentication factors.

Using OneLogin Protect

Adding OneLogin Protect as a Security Factor

Begin by logging into OneLogin on your computer: https://agora.onelogin.com

  1. In the top-right corner of your OneLogin portal, click on your name, then click on Profile.

  2. Click on Security Factors.

  3. Click on Add Factor.

  4. From the list of available MFA devices, select OneLogin OTP.

  5. You will be prompted to download and install OneLogin Protect on your mobile device. Click Activate when the app has been installed.

  6. Open the OneLogin Protect app on your mobile phone, click on the + icon, and scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen using your phone’s camera.
If you are unable to scan the QR code, click “Can’t scan the code?” on your computer and tap on “Enter code instead” in OneLogin Protect. Then type the displayed code into your phone.

OneLogin Protect is now configured for your account and device.
To add more devices, simply follow the above steps again but substitute your new device for the old one in steps 5 and 6. Once added, you may want to rename the duplicate security factors for easier identification.

Using OneLogin OTP for MFA

Start by going to the OneLogin on your computer: https://agora.onelogin.com

  1. Login with your username and password.

  2. After the initial login, OneLogin Protect will send a push notification to the device you installed OneLogin Protect on. Push Accept on your device, and then your OneLogin portal will automatically open.

Managing MFA Factors

Adding Another MFA Factor:

If you need more than one device for MFA, you can setup the new device just like the old one. Simply follow the above steps but substitute your new device for the old one in steps 5 and 6.

Removing an MFA Factor:

If you have an old security factor that you no longer need, go to the Security Factors tab of your profile, click on the 3 vertical dots for the factor you wish to remove, and then click on “Remove”.

Renaming an MFA Factor:

If you have multiple MFA devices using OneLogin Protect, you can rename them for easier identification. Go to the Security Factors tab of your profile, click the 3 vertical dots for the factor you want to rename, and click on “Edit name”.

Setting OneLogin Protect as the Primary MFA Factor

Our current MFA factor, Duo Security, will be removed from OneLogin once all users are using OneLogin Protect. If you previously used Duo as a security factor, you will need to set OneLogin Protect as the new Primary MFA factor for OneLogin. This only needs to be done once.

Go back to your profile and click on Security Factors.
Click on the 3 vertical dots for OneLogin OTP, then click on Set as primary.

This will move OneLogin OTP to the top of the list as the Primary factor.
