Blueshift Shared Assets

Summary / TL:DR: This article will teach you what shared assets are in Blueshift.

Shared assets provide a way to create a 'library of code' for commonly used assets. They can be reused across multiple email templates and allow management of changes or updates in one convenient location. Shared assets can be comprised of Liquid Script, HTML, or plain text. Examples of commonly used shared assets are:

  • Headers

  • Footers

  • Special promotions/banners used across several emails

Things to consider before creating shared assets:

  • Can be used in both the Visual and HTML editors

  • When using in the HTML editor use the reference string formatted like the following: <shared_asset> your_asset </shared_asset>

  • Shared assets cannot be nested within one another

  • You can pass liquid script variables between other shared assets or the template using the asset

  • Edits to a shared asset will be applied to all templates that use that asset

Wrap up
