Safety around Mt. Vernon Campus
We work hard to ensure the safety of our buildings and grounds in order to keep Mount Vernon a great place to live and work, but it's never a bad idea to be mindful of safety precautions you can take for yourself.Â
Â
Here's a friendly reminder of some safety best practices while on our Mount Vernon campus.Â
Â
SAFETY ON A CITY CAMPUS
If you’re walking around campus – morning, noon, or night – be aware of your surroundings. People that are on their phones, are alone, and/or wearing headphones, are more likely to become a target.Â
If you drive to work, try to keep your car tidy, as cluttered cars are more likely to become a target.
If you don’t recognize someone entering or trying to enter your building, don’t be shy about asking them who they are or how you can help them. Don’t allow someone you don’t know to follow you into the building, even if they have a clipboard or a badge.Â
