Use these instructions to add/update a Promotion Narrative. Depending on the alert type selected promotion narratives will add pop up text to promotion codes used at time of entry, and pop ups when a cancellation is entered. If you need to add a new promotion code, go here.
Scripts are used to decide which fields are displayed and which fields are hidden. There are lots of fields on the Promotions screen that are not needed for creating a promotion code. Common scripts include OTHER and CSP DEFAULT. These instructions use the NEWADD script, to see how to set a script, /wiki/spaces/LD/pages/38796381016.
How to Add a Promotion Narrative
If the promo code is already created...
From the Marketing ribbon, click Promotions
Click Script
Select NEWADD
Click OK
Enter the promotion code that needs to have a narrative added/edited in thesearch bar on the Promotions page.
Highlight the promotion to be edited and click the Change button.
Narrative Type
Defines when a narrative will appear if entered on the promotion code.
ALERT
With this option selected, an alert will appear when placing an order in Advantage.
CANCEL ALERT
With this option selected, an alert will appear if the order is canceled in Advantage. This will also appear when entering the promo code during order entry.
DEFAULT
With this option selected, the narrative will not act as an alert and the narrative will only be seen on the promotion codes. This option should not be used.
Promotion Narrative
Allows users to enter additional information or alerts that will either appear when placing or canceling an order. This field works in conjunction with the Narrative Type field. The text added in this field will pop when the associated promotion code is used during order entry or during cancellation depending on the Narrative Type chosen.
Click into any box that can have data entered into it and press Enter.
Once the narrative has been entered there will be a pop up when the promo code is entered on the Order Entry screen.

In the Promotion Detail Section, complete the following:
Promotion Narrative
