Use the instructions below to Pre-Auth a credit card.
How to Pre-Authorize a Credit Card
From the Customer Service ribbon select the Telesales tab.
Click CC PreAuth
The Credit Card Authorization Entry dialog box will appear, complete the following fields:
Customer Number
Enter the account number of the bill-to customer associated with the transaction.
Address Code*
This will prefill with the address code associated with the ship-to address. This can be changed by clicking the dropdown arrow.
Billing Currency
Enter the currency associated with the order. This will default based on the default currency set on the customer's account and can be adjusted if necessary.
Billing Organization*
Enter the owning organization of the item being pre-auth'd.
Amount*
Enter how much the card is going to be pre-authorized for.
Authorization Description
Enter a description of what the pre-auth is for at this time.
Add Card
Clicking add card will open the following dialog...
Complete the following:
Card Type
Select the card type from the list.
Card Number
Enter the card number.
Expire Month
Enter the card's expiration month.
Expire Year
Enter the card's expiration year.
Security Code
Enter the card's security (CVV) code.
Save Card
Choose whether to add the card to keep on file for future payments:
Yes - Will keep the card on file for future purposes
No - Will not keep a record of the card being used for the current purchase.
Click Confirm
Is For Auto-Charge
Checking this box will bring up the consent checkbox and flag it for auto charge with auto renewal.
Is For Installment Billing
This will flag the authorization for installment billing
If you check one of the boxes below, the consent text will populate. You must receive consent before pre-authorizing the card. If the order will be an Auto-Charge or Installment Billing order, and you do not get consent, the user will be unable to place the order if the system shows an error if consent is not provided.
