This article will explain how to update a customer’s credit card on file for a subscription on automatic renewal.

Note

Per the Visa mandates, users will no longer be able to use the Add or Change buttons to change the auto charge information on subscriptions. You will have to perform a MOD ARN in order to change the auto charge information, which will also prompt you for consent. Use these instructions when updating a credit card on file for a subscription on automatic renewal. 


What you will need

  1. Customer’s credit card information

    1. Card type

    2. Card number

    3. Card expiration date

    4. Security code (CVV)

  2. Renewal Policy

  3. Promotion code


How to Update Credit Card on File

  1. From the Customer Service ribbon, navigate to Customer Activity

  2. Select the subscription you want to update the credit card info for and then click Subscription Modification

  3. The Choose Modification Operation box will appear, enter ARN for Auto Renewal and click OK

  4. The Auto-renewal Modification dialog box will appear, click Next

  5. Complete the following fields:

Renewal Policy

Enter the renewal policy

Promotion Code

Enter the promotion code associated with the order

6. Clicking Add Card will open up the secure payment entry dialog box, complete the following:

Card Type

Select the card type from the list

Card Number

Enter the card number

Expiration Month

Enter the expiration month

Expiration Year

Enter the expiration year

Security Code

Enter the card’s security (CVV) code

Save Card

Choose whether to save the card for future payments:

Yes - Will keep the card on file for future purchases

No - Will not keep a record of the card being used for the current purchase

7. Click Confirm

8. If the product has a C renewal flag consent must be given by checking the consent box before completing the order, the script should be read to the customer

9.Click OK


Wrap up

You should now be able to update a credit card on file for a subscription on automatic renewal.
