IRIS Testing Group Categories

Categories are broad topics in marketing that your testing groups can be organized into. IRIS provides a handful of commonly used categories in paid and lead gen that cover most testing needs, but you're free to add as many custom categories as you'd like.

How to Access Categories

  4. Once you reach the Categories screen, you'll find the list of all current testing group categories set up for your business, divided into paid and lead gen. For each of these categories, you'll be able to see how many active and archived testing groups there are.

Viewing categories is available to all users, but editing and managing custom categories requires the 'Testing Group' permission.

Adding a category

To create your own custom category:

  2. The Create Category dialog box will appear, complete the following fields:

You're welcome to create categories of the same name in paid and lead gen if you'd like a particular category to be available for both.

Custom categories can be deleted as long as there are no testing groups assigned to them. Once a testing group is assigned to a category, you can edit its name and description, but not whether it applies to paid or lead gen efforts, nor can it be deleted.

Designing your own category system

Categories provide an opportunity for your team to take charge of testing groups and design an organization system that works for you. You could choose to make a category dedicated to testing subject lines and keep those separated from other copy related tests. You could split out categories for upsells and cross-sells if that's helpful for your team. Whatever supports your testing needs.
