Creating Media Outlets

Summary / TL:DR: This article will teach you how to create media outlets in WMC.

You will need to add media outlets anytime you have a new location where an advertisement is going out or a new item you’re selling. For instance, if you have a new 3rd party vendor, you will need to add a new media outlet so you can track the performance of this.


How to Create Media Outlets in WMC

Note - Items and Lists will need to be set up under Media Outlets for the time being. They will be broken out into two different sections shortly.

  1. Select More and click on Media Outlets 

  2. Define the name of the media outlet 

  3. Add a friendly name if necessary 

  4. Add an outlet abbreviation. This is a required field. This can be a short name for the outlet 

  5. Add the type

    1. Free 

    2. Paid 

    3. Phone – this is an SMS list or phone list 

    4. Website 

6. Who owns the outlet? 

Internal

Our company owns the outlet. This is our list of subscribers, our own website or our list of SMS users.

Non-Agora

We do not own the outlet. This is used with 3rd party marketing. 

7. Enter the Advantage list code. This should match the list code created in Advantage exactly. This is not a required field. 

8. Enter an unsubscribe experience, if necessary for a free list. This will define the domain and the customer journey for the unsubscribe. 

9. Select Save

10. This media outlet can now be applied to marketing efforts!
