Summary / TL:DR: This article provides instructions on how to complete list runs for house pulls using selects sets in Advantage.


Completing JIRA Ticket

  1. Create ticket in JIRA – include Promo Code, List Name/Pub Codes, Select and Expected Qty

Creating Select Set in Advantage

1. Add New Select Set

2. Fill out the following fields:

Select Set Name

Jira ticket number (ex: J178734)

Select Set Description

Use Publication Code for Direct mail campaign you are handling

Process

Select Sub-Gen Prev Sel File & Mail (LST36A)

Select Set Type

LST Sort Select (LSTSRTSEL)

Data Source

Will automatically default to Subscription List Selection Process Data


Building Select Set and Segments

  1. Hit ‘View SQL’ toggle and enter the following:

LEFT OUTER JOIN ARPCRD_M AS CRD

WHERE ((SUB.PUB_CDE IN (ENTER PUB CODES HERE) AND SUB.CRC_STS IN ('C', 'E', 'P', 'R') AND ISNULL(ADR.CUN_TYP, ' ') = '' AND SUB.BIL_STS <> 'C' AND ISNULL(CTM.REC_STA, ' ') = 'A' AND ISNULL(CTM.PROMO, ' ') <> 'N' AND ISNULL(CRD.CRD_STS, ' ') NOT IN ('3', 'H')))

Change the pub codes to include all pub codes that will need to be included in the list pull.

Example:

2. Create new segment for each promo code/list to be pulled (hit +  sign on Segmentation line)

3. Select ‘Properties’ icon -   

4. Fill out following fields:

Name

Enter List Name and Segment

Output Filename

Enter Promo Code

Seed Group

Select ‘namebank seeds (NB)’

 If there is a request for NTH you can ‘Add Panel’
  • Properties Tab: Name will be QUANTITY OF NTH (ex. 2,000 NTH); Output File tab will be Promo Code, Seed Group name will be Namebank seeds (NBK)

  • Limits Tab: NTH Count = 1, Exact count will QUANTITY OF NTH requested

  • Continue to add new segments for each list requested

5. Create Select Segmentation

*Example below of criteria for Oxford Club pub codes, DMS Actives

  • Selecting pub codes (for more than 1 code select “Is In List”, if only 1 pub code being pulled use “Is Equal To”

  • To Select DMS names use the following – Promotion Code Is Equal To D

  • To Select Actives use the following – Circulation Status Is In List R,P

Expires – use Circulation Status Is Equal To E

  • Always include the following – Customer Is Blocked Is Equal To No

6. Once the Select Subscriptions are completed for all segments then we can run LST36A process in Advantage.


Running LST36A

  1. Open Advantage Production Area – Select Processes and run Report ‘LST36A’

  2. ‘Request Process’ Dialog box will open. Select Options Tab

Select Set

Jira Ticket Number

Output File Name

Jira Ticket Number

List Identifier

3. Select Printing Tab

4. Change Export to H and then hit Submit to run


Retrieving Report and Mail File

  1. Once file is finished running in Advantage go to \\maui\advprod\PubProd\reports\operations

    1. Select year/month and then day process was run

    2. Enter Jira ticket # in search box

    3. Open report to verify promo codes and counts 

  2. To retrieve Mail File(s) go to  \\maui\AdvProd\PubProd\seq and type in promo codes in ‘Search seq’ box and select mail file.

  3. Open to make sure that data was loaded and then zip it, password protect it and ship it to MMI.

You should now be able to complete list runs for house pulls using selects sets in Advantage.
